THE GREATEST GURUS AND THE PATH OF DRAMA

I never knew Nityananda, nor even read about him, but reflecting on his student, Muktananda, as well as Robert and Ramana, I have to conclude that Muktananda was a far better teacher/guru than Robert or Ramana.

Shakti gave Muktananda something the others lacked, which was an ability to awaken the
spiritual energies in students directly, by a look or touch, or through words, such as David Spiro or Jan Esmann, or Sw. Shankaranana.

The so-called energy gurus are all heavily into devotion, and devotion is a far more powerful path and a deeper path than Advaita’s self-inquiry or silent meditation, aka Shikantaza.

They have been granted this ability and this
obligation by Shakti, by God.  Yes, there are thousands of teachers out there, but only a much smaller number can be considered gurus, who are not just loving, deeply feeling, deeply in bliss, but who have been directed by God, Shakti, the Life Force, to sacrifice themselves for the spiritual benefit of othes.

Yes, Shakti moved through Robert, but in a
minor way.  Robert’s teachings were about leaving the world, not about accepting it as it is and helping those caught in its painful grip to be able to lead a life leading to the realization of the divine.

Shakti loves a lover, even a mischievous one, and isa vessel who has been blessed to have a
heart and mind open to loving will serve that person just for the sake of supporting love in the world.  Even the cheating lover serves that purpose.  The energy guru appears to be a cheating lover because many love him or her alone, but the guru loves them all in different ways and by different measures.  But his or her intent is to use that love to bring the student to God through Shakti. Once she catches you it is difficult to slip from her jaws as she shreds your heart and soul, making it pure through surrender and devotion.

While devotion is much quicker in its ability to take you to your own Self and to God, it is also a much more painful and drama-filled path.
